Barbecued Beef Ribs
10 to 15 beef ribs (they come in slabs – I cut them apart)
¼ to ½ cup Worcestershire sauce
1 medium onion – chopped
2 Tablespoons light olive oil
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
1 cup catsup
¼ to 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
1 Tablespoon mustard
½ cup chopped celery
1/3 cup hot pepper jelly – optional (I like some zing in my food)
2 Tablespoons vinegar
¼ cup lemon juice
½ cup water
Place ribs on broiler pan, baste with Worcestershire sauce. Broil each side just until browned – basting each time you turn.
Place in a large baking dish. In a frying pan, brown onion in olive oil; add remaining ingredients and cook slowly until flavors are blended – about 15 minutes.
Pour over ribs.
Cover and bake for 1 ½ to 2 hours. Turn ribs every 20 minutes. Remove cover and place under broiler just long enough to get a sear on the ribs – turning once. Serve.
I was in a weird mood today and served them with strawberries and sweet potatoes. Not traditional rib side dishes, but it was what I felt like eating.

These look delish. You want to come over and make me some, I don't like to cook :)
Just wanted to let you know we are reading your blog.

I havent been reading your blog lately because things have been crazy. I read the comments you leave on both my blogs and I appreciate them alot - they are so filled with care and understanding - though it seems I make you cry alot and I am sorry for that.
In your post on sunday you asked about a name for your old house. I cant think of a name but I wanted to say when I first looked at that old photo the first thing that came to my mind was the Adams Family. I dont know if you know the old show but yeah, thats what came to mind.
Your post on Lancer really touched me. I get being filled with questions that never will get answered and I know what you mean about people who care more about objects and less about people.
If I knew how to cry I think I would have from this post and your post on memories, what you and your sisters lived through was so unfair.
I find it interesting that you can remember immediately before and after - you remember switching even if you didnt recognise for what it was. For me I am just missing huge gaps of my childhood and I dont think this was just from switching but also just from repressing so much I ended up repressing good stuff to. Plus losing time to switching.
Mostly I wanted to say that I am thinking of you. I do remember you even when I dont get a chance to read your blog and you are in my prayers.
Take gentle care of yourself
Those look yummy!
