EEG and the DID Brain

I want to have an EEG just to see what happens in my brain when some of my alters are out. I've read that a DID brain reacts differently depending on the alter, and this will show up on an EEG. I wish there was a way to have one without having my name attached to it or it attached to my medical records. It would be interesting to see which parts of my brain are controlled by my different alters.

Maybe someday, I'll get to have this done, and my alters will feel validated.

Have any of my readers who are DID had an EEG? If so, what did you discover?

This would be very interesting.
Why would you not want your name attached to your finding in your medical records?

I saw a video another multi had of doing an EEG (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0aBPk46ZmV0&feature=related). i'd lie to try it too. I do have a toy that responds to brain theta waves, and I'm starting to experiment to see if it reacts differently to various alters.

Tracy,

Great question. My medical doctor does not know I have DID. I don't want that finding in my medical file. I worry about my employer finding out about it because it could cost me my job because people do not understand DID. I hope in my lifetime that mental illness will be better understood.

i have. To be accurate they use a "Procaine activated EEG". I've had about 50 in my life and yes, they do confirm the diagnosis to the point where you can identify which "part" is present by the brainwaves. for more info and to see studies i was involved with regarding this when i was 13, u can search dr. ralph rybeck, neurology. in my honest opinion, this should be THE test given to confirm a diagnosis of mpd/did. period.
